WOMEN'S RUGBY 2008 YEAR IN REVIEW

The Varsity Blues women’s rugby team finished their 2008 regular season in fourth place of the Russell Division with a 1-4-0 record.

Toronto’s lone victory came against the York Lions in their season opener. The Blues defeated their cross-town rivals 15-10 in a close back-and-forth battle on Back Campus field for their first win in five seasons.

The Blues were blanked by the first-place Guelph Gryphons 67-0 in quarter-final action to end their 2008 season.

Sonya Kuziw and Blues team captain Megan Boyles were named OUA Russell division all-stars. Kuziw led the Blues with 10 points this season.

Boyles was also honoured as the CIS Student-Athlete Community Service Award winner for her display of outstanding achievement in academics, athletics and leadership.
