FOUR BLUES EARN OUA WATER POLO ALL-STAR RECOGNITION

Nicole Brown, Brittany Sinclair, Casey Pottier and Laura Shaw of the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women’s water polo team were named 2009 all-stars as announced by the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) on Thursday, November 26.

Brown (Burlington, Ont.), Shaw (Vancouver) and Pottier (Kitchener, Ont.) finished 1-2-3 in OUA scoring with 23, 22 and 20 goals respectively, while Sinclair was sixth with 18 goals this season.

Brown has been the league’s leading scorer since her rookie season in 2007 and fittingly earns her third consecutive first team all-star nod. Sinclair joins her on the first team, receiving her second all-star recognition over her three-year career.

After an incredible debut season with the Blues, Pottier receives her first all-star on the second team, while Shaw makes her second appearance as a second-team all-star.
