University of Toronto Varsity Blues cross country standout Megan Brown placed second at the 2009 Canadian cross country championships on Saturday, November 28 in Guelph, Ont.

The 2009 OUA and CIS individual champion, Brown (Guelph, Ont.) finished the 7km race in 23:28.0, seven seconds behind NCAA silver medalist Kendra Schaaf of the University of Washington.

The silver-medal performance deems Brown eligible to represent Canada at the IAAF world cross country championships on March 28, 2010 in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
