As a first-time entrant into the university dance challenge, the University of Toronto dance team came in a danced their way to a first-place prize on Saturday, March 14.
There were 150 entries from over 13 universities at the at the River Run Centre in Guelph, Ont. and the U of T dance team proved that they deserved to be there.
Toronto competed in the small group jazz division to “Brave and Crazy” by Melissa Etheridge - choreographed by Christine Miceli. The Blues finished first with a final score of 94.08 and also earned a third-place overall finish, earning a cash scholarship in the small group category.
The squad is comprised of nine University of Toronto dancers from all backgrounds of study.
Next up for the dance team is the Humber dance challenge next Sunday, March 22 at Humber College. The competition is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
