The University of Toronto Varsity Blues mountain biking team had another successful season in 2008.

The Blues finished in third place in the University Cup standings with 942 points, behind the dominant Guelph Gryphons (1807) and second-place Queen’s Gaels (1564) and well ahead of the fourth-place Laurentian Voyageurs (280).

Chris McKnight led the men’s team with top-three finishes in all four of his races, including a gold medal in the men’s sport division at Harwood Hills.

Jessica Moffet was the Blues top female rider this season. She started with a gold medal in the women’s B division at Mansfield Outdoor Centre and continued to move up to the women’s expert division where she finished in the top six for the remaining three races.

Jessica Davenport, Bret Waghorne, Andrea Januszewski and Emelie Maeda also posted top results for the Blues this season.
