Ashley Hoy and Sophia Oliveira-Lenson of the University of Toronto Varsity Blues dance team accepted their invitaion to join the Raptor Pak – the official dance team of the Toronto Raptors.

Hoy and Oliveira-Lenson were two of 127 dancers to audition for the team. After being taught a small combo, the girls performed and were among the 75 dancers that made the first cut. After a few more rigorous routines and individual interviews, both Hoy and Oliverira-Lenson were chosen to join the 2009-10 version of the dance crew

“We are always looking for fresh faces that truly have the total package,” said Raptor Pak choreographer and dance director Amberley Waddell. “What impressed me about Ashley and Sophia was their energy the minute they walked in the room. Once they started dancing I was excited to see that both were fabulous technical dancers.”

How and Oliveira-Lenson joined the Varsity Blues dance team in September of 2009. Their experience and enthusiasm will surely be missed at Varsity games. Nonetheless, we wish them every success during the upcoming NBA season.
