The Varsity Blues Nordic ski team had another successfully competitive season. The women finished fifth and the men sixth at the 2010 OUA championships, while Hans Fischer earned coach of the year honours for the first time in his career.

Patrick Monette led the Blues men’s team, finishing 17th in men’s 10km classic, 20th in 15km freestyler race and teaming up with Ian Weir and Chris McKnight to finish ninth in the men’s relay.

Kate Sauks and Erin Mallinger led the women’s team in both the 5km classic and 10km freestyle at this year’s conference championships. Sauks finished 22nd in 5km classic with a time of 18:31.2 and 26th in the freestyle, while Mallinger was 24th in the both events.

Sauks, Erin Mallinger and Hilary Mallinger also finished ninth in the women’s 7.5km relay (27:33.0).
