Hamilton, Ont. - Fourth-year forward Nicki Schutz of the University of Toronto Varsity Blues was named a second team all-Canadian as major awards and all-Canadians were announced at the 2010 CIS women’s basketball championship banquet on Thursday night.
A two-time OUA all-star, Schutz earns her first all-Canadian recognition after leading the CIS with 11 rebounds per game and was third in the OUA with 17.95 points per game. The Toronto native recorded 14 doubles-doubles this season, including 11 in the last 12 games.
With 21 points and 10 boards, Schutz also helped lead the team in an upset of the third-place Queen’s Gaels in OUA East quarter-final action.
