After earning the 2010 OUA silver medal, the Varsity Blues men’s curling team went on to finish third in their pool at the national championship tournament in Edmonton, Alta.
Skip Pat Janssen, vice Bill Francis, second Jonathan Braden and lead Matthew Hardman were just shy of OUA gold, falling 9-8 in extra ends to the defending champions Western Mustangs.
Janssen and Frances were named OUA first all-stars, while Hardman picked up second-team recognition.
The Blues then went 4-2 at the CIS championships and were one win away from earning a spot in the semifinals. Unfortunately, Toronto met a strong Manitoba squad in their last draw and fell short of a semi-final berth.
