University of Toronto Varsity Blues track and field athlete Sarah Boyle earned a bronze medal in the women’s high jump on Day 3 of the Canadian track and field championships at Varsity Centre.
Boyle of Scarborough, Ont., cleared a personal best height of 1.81m to finish third for the second consecutive year. Nicole Forrester won the gold medal with a height of 1.90m, while Jillian Drouin was second after clearing 1.81m on her first attempt.
In other action, Sarah Wells dominated the women’s 400m hurdle semifinals and broke a Varsity Stadium record with a time of 58.34 seconds. She is the top seed for tomorrow’s final, set for 2:00 p.m.
Michael Trnkus and University of Toronto Track Club (UTTC) athlete Kate Ruediger also qualified for the men’s and women’s 400m final on Saturday.
