Third-year runner Tamara Jewett dominated all competition with a first-place finish at the 2011 Western Invitational on Saturday, September 24 at Thames Valley GC in London, Ont.
The Varsity Blues women placed 11th overall, while the men were fifth on the day.
A native of Toronto, Jewett finished the 5km race in 17:35, 27 seconds ahead of Guelph’s Andrea Secaffien.
Emma Spelt was the next Blue to cross the finish line in 20:24, while Erin Ready was not far behind in 20:39. Chantelle Maryuen recorded a time of 21:07 and Paulina Maher finished the course in 21:22.
Leading the way in the men’s 10km race was Antun Pavelic with a 16th place finish in 33:23. Zain Ahmed was not far behind in 20th (33:33) with Jake Woloshyn coming in 24th in 33:40.
