Second-year standout swimmer Vanessa Treasure has been named Pioneer Petroleums Ontario University Athletics (OUA) female athlete of the week for the period ending February 12, 2012.

This is the second time in the past three weeks that Treasure has earned the honour.

Treasure swept the individual medley events en route to a triple medal performance at the 2012 CIS swimming championships, February 23-25, in Montreal.

The second-year Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education student opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 400 IM with a time of 4:38.76.

A native of Mississauga, Ont., Treasure completed the sweep on Day 3, claiming the gold medal in the 200 IM in a time of 2:13.93.

She also added a bronze medal in the 200 butterfly (2:12.82) on Day 2.  Treasure was instrumental in Toronto’s women earning their second consecutive CIS bronze medal.
