BUSY WEEKEND FOR TRACK & FIELD

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues track and field team has athletes competing at the Hilton Garden Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C., the Armory Invitational in New York City and the York Open on Saturday, January 31.

At the Hilton Garden Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C.:

Hayley Warren placed third overall in the women's 60m hurdles in a time of 8.18 seconds, placing her 20th on the IAAF rankings.

Greg MacNeil finished sixth in the men's 60m hurdles in a time of 7.91 seconds.
 
At the Armory Invitational in New York:
Full Results

Gabriela Stafford won her second race in as many days, taking the top spot in the 800m in a time of 2:06.49, while Sacha Smart placed second in the men's 800m in a time of 1:51.36.
 
At the York Open:

Zain Ahmed led Toronto's men with a first place finish in the 3000m in a time of 8:40.67. Alex Zaranek placed third in the 600m (1:42.02), while Marc MaGuire was third in the triple jump (13.68m) and Adam Karakolis won the weight throw with a U of T record distance of 15.41m.

Toronto's women were led by a few second-place finishes. Maggie Hanlon was second in the 60m (7.61), Jessica Caterini was second in the 60m hurdles (8.79), while in the field Ekua Cudjoe improved her U of T record distance with a 17.62m weight throw.

Julia Stille placed second in the long jump (5.45m) and third in the triple jump (11.52m), while Katia Vasilyeva (1.65m) and Gillian Ceyhan (1:38.23) were third in the high jump and 600m, respectively.
